We are a small school found in the village of Spellbrook in Hertfordshire that enjoys strong links with Great St. Mary's Church, Sawbridgeworth.
The school first opened in 1891 with a single classroom which currently houses our oldest children. Since then it has undergone extension including three further classrooms and a hall. Our brand new reception area was officially opened in November 2011 and has provided a much appreciated, up to date and functional entrance to the school as well as extra working areas for the children.
There are currently just over 100 children on role and we pride ourselves on providing a rich learning experience for all children within a caring, nurturing environment and feel that our small size enables us to do just this.
We were very lucky to have a visit from BebeVox, a singer who has had songs in the chart, during our assembly on Tuesday 28th February. She gave us a taster of her music and we all had a great dance along. Thank you to Mr Quelch for arranging this exciting event.
On Thursday 1st March we celebrated World Book Day in school with Ruby Class 'Going On A Bear Hunt' and the other classes working on book related activities in the older classes in maixed age groups. The day was a huge success and lots of fun was had by all. Photos will follow shortly. Please also look out for he WBD vouchers coming home with your children this week.
On Friday 2nd March children from Diamond Class took part in an athletics event at Birchwood. Well done to everybody and a big thank you to Mrs Walton, Mrs Fiddes and the parents who helped with transport.
